Overall, the students had mixed reactions regarding the mathematics paper. Q-18 of set 1 didn't have the correct option. Assertion-reasoning questions were indirect. A couple of solved examples from NCERT were also there. Section B had unseen questions. The questions from Probability, Linear Programming and Differential Equations were quite direct and simple.
-- Deepika Joshi and Ramneek Kaur, Educator Mathematics, Shiv Nadar School, Noida
Subject | Maximum marks of Theory | Maximum marks of Practical/Project | Passing marks (for theory and practical/project separately) |
Physics | 70 | 30 | 33 per cent |
Chemistry | 70 | 30 | |
Maths | 80 | 20 | |
Biology | 70 | 30 | |
English Core | 80 | 20 |
The difficulty level was higher than the sample paper, and the distribution of marks for concepts was arbitrary. For example, the whole of integration was for only one mark. Since this was the first-ever 80 mark exam in applied mathematics, there was not much clarity about what to expect.
-- Poojan Sahil and Parmeet Singh, Educator Senior Years; Shiv Nadar School, Noida
Most of the students found the Sanskrit paper easy. They were able to answer all the questions. All the questions were from the given syllabus. Many questions were directly related to the questions of their question banks, sample papers and pre-board papers. The toughest part of the paper was compound, translation work.
-- Mukul Dwivedi, Educator Senior Years, Shiv Nadar School, Noida
The paper was moderate, balanced, and as expected. The questions were mainly based on CBSE guidelines. The questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. The paper pattern was similar to the CBSE Sample Paper for the Session 2022-23. MCQs were mostly easy. Students were happy and satisfied with their performances.
-- Shipra Das, TGT (Hindi and Sanskrit), Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad
As per students, the difficulty level of the question paper was easy to moderate. The toughest section was Section C and E. The questions on the exam ranged in difficulty from moderate to easy. Science students find the paper easy but for commerce students, it was tricky and lengthy. Questions based on case studies required conceptual knowledge.
Overall an easy-to-moderate paper as far as the difficulty level is concerned, with a balanced approach for all kinds of students.
-- Ajit Pratap Singh , PGT Mathematics, KIIT World School Gurugram

Analysing the CBSE Class 12 maths paper as moderately difficult, Nilutpal Bora, PGT Mathematics, Modern English School, Guwahati said: "All questions were from the syllabus and the questions related to the chapter matrix and vector was relatively of easy level. The content was strictly based on the NCERT syllabus and the MCQ questions were of moderate level. The questions related to the calculus part were also of moderate level and few of them were either directly from the book or from the previous year's question paper.
"Overall if a student has studied the entire syllabus thoroughly and also practiced the previous year's papers, he will be able to score very good marks. The paper can be easily completed within the stipulated time period," Bora said.
Analysing the paper as moderate, balanced and as expected, Harmeet Kaur, HOD Mathematics, Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad, said: "The questions were mainly based on CBSE guidelines. The direct questions were quite easy and the competency-based questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. The paper pattern was similar to the CBSE Sample Paper for the Session 2022-23."
"Students were satisfied. The questions of case study were application based but the MCQs were mostly easy to moderate. Students found that approximately 15% of questions were above average," she added.
