CBSE announces subject list for classes 10, 12

NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 6: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the subject list for both vocation and core exams to be held in 2019. The list includes subjects for both vocational and core exams.

Students can check the complete list of subjects for classes 10 and 12 on the official website of the board by clicking on the notification titled, Distribution of subjects for February & March/April, 2019. While the CBSE is yet to announce the date schedule for the 2019 annual exams, in its earlier notification it said that the vocational subjects should start by the mid-February and the core by March.

In a previous Delhi High Court order, the Delhi University and the Board have been asked to the CBSE results as well that for the re-evaluation exam are to be considered when determining the cut-off date for undergraduate admission to the University. Under the current system, the regular results are declared by the end of May or first week of July. However, those for re-evaluated papers is announced by the end of July. By that time, admissions at most of the colleges at Delhi University are over.

CBSE offers around 240 subjects to students of classes 10 and 12. While in class 12, language is the only compulsory subject, in class 10 Language, Maths, Science and Social Science are the compulsory subjects.

Vocational subjects are those which lead to skill based training. Core exam includes include subjects like English, Mathematics and Social Science among others.
