Students appearing for the examination found the paper moderate.
As per the CBSE 2023 economics sample paper pattern, there were a total of 34 questions in the question paper and students were required to answer all of them. The CBSE Class 12 economics question paper contained two sections -- Section A, or Macro Economics, and Section B, or Indian Economic Development.
Saying that the sections in the paper were relatively easy, Prerna Gandhi (PGT Commerce) KIIT World Schol,Gurugram said: “Class 12 Economics paper was simple and well balanced. As per students the level of difficulty was moderate. The question paper was a balanced mix of knowledge, analysis and application based questions. Most of the students were able to complete the paper well in time and also could save some time for revision.”
Gandhi further added: “Regarding difficulty level, MCQ questions were not tricky but the questions were value-based. Section B was simple with direct answers. The paper was balanced and one who solved NCERT well, could easily answer all questions. Paper was not at all lengthy. Case based questions were easy and in comfort zone for the students.”
“The paper consisted of questions ranging from easy to critical. Language was very easy and proper reading of the question will make it accessible for the students,” she added.
Analysing the economics paper was moderate on the difficulty level and few questions were quite direct and few were comprehensive and application based, Neha Gulati, PGT Economics, DPS Indirapuram said: “Question paper was as per CBSE syllabus and in accordance with CBSE sample paper, overall it was an analytical paper which required thorough knowledge of the text.”
Terming the paper as easy to moderate, Anupam Agnihotri, Teacher, Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad said: “The direct questions were quite easy to answer. The competency-based questions were average. Students were able to attempt the paper in time. The paper pattern was similar to the CBSE Sample Paper for the Session 2022-23.”
“Students gave positive feedback saying the paper was overall balanced and based on CBSE curriculum. The questions of case study were direct but the MCQs were a little tricky,” he added.
