CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation portal faces technical glitch, services to resume by 2 pm

Download NowThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a circular informing students that the online application process for obtaining scanned copies of Class 12 answer books is currently facing technical issues. The board said a team of experts is working to resolve the problem, and the application portal is expected to become functional again by 2 pm today, May 20, 2026.
The board has requested students and parents to remain patient and cooperate while the issue is being addressed and has assured that priority will be given to students seeking scanned copies of their answer books for grievance redressal purposes. The board reiterated that all eligible students will receive the required opportunity to apply for scanned copies once the technical problem is resolved.

The technical disruption has created uncertainty for students planning to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation after the declaration of CBSE Class 12 results. Several candidates reported difficulties in accessing the portal , submitting requests, and downloading scanned answer sheets. The issue has also raised concerns among students preparing for college admissions and professional course applications, as rechecking timelines are closely linked to admission schedules.
CBSE admits glitches in portal
Soon after the CBSE made the verification application link active on May 19, students and parents took to social media seeking clarity regarding application deadlines and portal access. CBSE then revised the schedule for downloading scanned copies of Class 12 answer books , extending the facility till May 23, 2026. Earlier, the deadline was May 22, 2026. The board also confirmed that students dissatisfied with their marks can apply for verification and re-evaluation between May 26 and May 29, 2026.

CBSE reduced the fee for obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer sheets and result verification to Rs 100 each, while re-evaluation charges have been fixed at Rs 25 per question . The board said requests submitted by students will be reviewed by subject experts, and any increase in marks after re-evaluation will lead to a refund of the rechecking fee. This came after students and other stakeholders raised questions againt the on screen marking that CBSE followed this year. THe board also conducted a press conference and shared that OSM is not new and was earlier introducted in 2014, but later discontinued.
