NEW DELHI, APRIL 25: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the re-test for the class 12 Economics paper on April 25. Over 6 lakh students appeared for the re-examination held across 4000 exam centres in India. The Economics paper was earlier held on March 26. However, the exam got cancelled after it was found that the paper was leaked before the examination.
As per reports, the retest of the Economics paper was easier than the earlier paper. Although the questions were tricky, it had more direct questions and many students were able to finish it within time.
Just a day before the retest, on April 24, CBSE released a press notice stating that as opposed to information on social media and some news platforms, it was not issuing separate admit cards to students for the paper. The candidates appeared from the same centres with the same admit cards as they had earlier.
CBSE has been at the centre of controversy after it was revealed that two papers- Mathematics class 10 and Economics class 12 had been leaked. While the Board decided against conducting the mathematics papers again as it analysed that the impact of the leak was less, it decided to reconduct the Economics paper.
The CBSE class 12 exam began on March 5 and ended on April 13. Over 10 lakh students reportedly appeared for the examinations.
