CBSE Class 12 Accountancy: Reports that board will award upto 6 as grace marks is fake news

Apply NowNEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) warns students against fake news claiming that the board will award upto six as grace marks due to the error in CBSE Class 12 accountancy exam conducted on December 13.
The CBSE said, "It has been brought to the notice that the fake news reports allegedly quoting an audio message in the name of CBSE controller Sanyam Bharadwaj are being circulated."
The fake audio message said that the CBSE Class 12 accountancy students will get "upto six" as grace marks as there were errors in the question paper. And that the decision was issued in the backdrop of complaints raised by students and teachers over difficult, out of syllabus questions in the CBSE Class 12 paper.

CBSE term 1 exams 2021 have been marred by controversy with incidents of last minute change in exam pattern and errors in CBSE Class 10, 12 question papers. The CBSE English paper also sparked a controversy for allegedly promoting "gender stereotyping" and supporting "regressive notions". Following this, the CBSE on Monday decided to drop the Class 10 English comprehension passage and award full marks for the question.
As per the fake audio message that was circulated, the anonymous person was heard as saying, "In CBSE sample papers, you are asked to attempt 45 out of 55 questions, while in the exam paper it is 40 out of 48 questions, it seems shocking to the students. Along with that, the instructions were not proper in the paper." "The answer of question number 10 in the answer key is 100 percent wrong, question number 47 is controversial," it added.

Students and teachers have said that the CBSE Class 12 Accountancy question paper was tough and the exam pattern was different from the CBSE sample paper 2021. They also found the CBSE Class 12 paper to be lengthy.
CBSE Class 12 maths exam conducted on December 6 was lengthy, difficult and tricky, as per students and teachers. Moreover, a teacher also said that couple of questions had multiple right answers.
