Try NowThe Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will close the registration process for Common Law Admission Test 2026 (CLAT 2026) counselling today. Eligible candidates can submit the CLAT 2026 counselling registration form through the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in by 10 pm.

The consortium will declare the seat allotment for CLAT 2026 counselling round 1 on January 7 and those who will be allotted law colleges seats must confirm their allotment and pay the admission fee by January 15, as per the official notification.
The CLAT 2026 counselling round 1 registration process is underway for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes for the academic year 2026-27 at NLUs participating in the counselling process.
Notably, candidates can select a minimum of 15 preferences for UG and at least 5 for PG programmes. However, they can provide more preference as well, the notification reads.

CLAT 2026 Counselling: Registration fee category-wise
“Candidates will be considered for ONLY those NLUs for which they have provided the preference. Example: - If a candidate has chosen only fifteen preferences, then he/she will be considered only for allotment in those fifteen preferences and not to any other NLUs, even if vacancies are available in other NLUs though he or she might be otherwise entitled to the merit list,” the consortium said in an official notice.
General category candidates should have to pay Rs 30,000, while those from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Backward Classes (BC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories are required to pay Rs 20,000 as CLAT 2026 counselling registration charges.
The CLAT 2026 counselling process includes registration, payment of the counselling fee, filling and locking of choices, and acceptance of the allotted seat. There will be a total of five rounds of counselling for admission to UG and PG programmes. “If a candidate is not allotted a seat in a given round, they are requested to wait for the next round of counselling as this is a sequential process,” as per the instructions.
