CSIR UGC NET June 2026 applications open at csirnet.nta.nic.in, exam on July 17

The National Agency Testing (NTA) has opened the application window for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) June 2026 on the official website of NTA and CSIR NET at nta.ac.in and csirnet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is June 19, 2026.

The examination will be conducted in both English and Hindi languages. The exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of objective-type questions (MCQs). The test will cover five papers: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. ‘

The examination duration will be 180 minutes (3 hours) and will be held in two shifts: shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 Noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

To submit the application form for the CSIR UGC NET June 2026, candidates need to follow the steps given below:

• Go to the official portal: csirnet.nta.nic.in
• Select the link for “Joint CSIR UGC-NET June 2026 Registration” on the homepage
• Register using a valid email ID and mobile number to generate login credentials
• Log in and complete the application form by entering required personal and academic information
• Upload necessary documents such as passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format
• Proceed to pay the application fee using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI
• Review all details carefully, submit the form, and download/save the confirmation page for future use

CSIR UGC NET June 2026: Application fees

The application fee varies according to the candidate’s category. General category applicants are required to pay Rs 1,150, while candidates belonging to the General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories need to submit Rs 600. For SC, ST, PwD, and third gender candidates, the application fee has been fixed at Rs 325.
