Delhi: Class 5 girl student hit by scissors, thrown from first floor by teacher; FIR filed

NEW DELHI: A Class 5 girl student of Prathmik Vidyalaya at Model Basti Shidhipura, Delhi was allegedly thrown from the first floor classroom by the teacher today. The teacher employed at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi school has been suspended and investigation has been taken up, a senior civic body official told the PTI.
A huge crowd gathered at the school following the incident that took place at the Prathmik Vidyalaya in central Delhi's Model Basti area. Station House Officer (SHO) along with the staff reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The class teacher, identified as Geeta Deshwal, first hit the girl with scissors and then threw her off from the first floor of the building. The injured girl child is under treatment at Bara Hindu Rao hospital. The doctors informed that the student is out of danger, as per sources.
The accused teacher has been detained and a FIR has been registered under Section 307 (attempt to murder) based on the statement of eyewitness, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said.
"The student has been admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital. All necessary tests including CT scan has been done. The child is safe and stable and responding well. "The teacher has been detained by police. The MCD has also suspended her with immediate effect. Further investigation is being conducted by the department," a senior MCD official told PTI
