DU organises job mela 2025 with 61 companies; issues advisory for safe conduct of events

The University of Delhi’s Central Placement Cell, under the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare, organised Job Mela 2025 – The Placement and Internship Fair today, October 8, 2025. The fair features 61 companies, including 47 offline and 14 online, with over 5,000 registered students.

The event was held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex, University of Delhi, and began at 9 am with participation from students and companies. More than 1,500 job and internship opportunities are available across sectors such as education, banking, financial services, insurance, business operations, marketing, sales, and engineering.

According to the official press release, participating recruiters include Muthoot Finance, AXIS IIT/NEET, Bajaj Capital, PCI India, Stubborn Factory, and Bajaj Allianz. Twenty companies offered placements only, 10 offered internships only, and several provided both. By 4 PM, over 1,200 students were shortlisted by various companies.

DU issues event safety advisory

In a separate advisory, the Delhi University issued guidelines for safe and orderly conduct of events and gatherings. The advisory follows the Standard Operating Procedure issued by Delhi Police in compliance with the High Court of Delhi orders dated November 10, 2023, and the Proctor’s Office advisory dated January 11, 2024.

According to the University of Delhi, colleges, hostels, centres, and institutions within the university are required to appoint a Liaison Officer to coordinate with the Delhi Police during events. The officer will be responsible for sharing details such as the event schedule, attendance, VVIP presence, and entry arrangements.

CCTV, public address systems made compulsory

“Adequate emergency arrangements should be ensured, including the presence of a First Aid Team, a static ambulance, and fire safety measures within the college/hostel premises or at the designated event venue,” the official press release said.

The advisory highlights the use of public address systems and CCTV coverage at key points, such as gates and parking areas. The responsibility for security during events lies with the respective colleges or institutions. They are required to engage trained security personnel and volunteers for crowd management.
