Education ministry invites applications for NIOS chairman post; apply by January 20

The ministry of education has announced applications for the post of chairman for NIOS. Candidates can apply through education.gov.in.
NEW DELHI:
The ministry of education (MoE) has invited applications for the post of chairman for National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). Eligible candidates will be able to apply for the NIOS chairman post through the official website education.gov.in. The last date to register for the position of chairman of NIOS is January 20, 2025.
Recently, Pankaj Arora, chairperson of the National Council for Technical Education (NCTE), took
additional charge as the NIOS chairman
for six months after the education ministry removed Saroj Sharma in connection with the suicide of her driver Ram Kumar. The former NIOS chairman Sharma has been booked by Delhi Police.
The open post will have the 7th CPC pay scale of “Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 (Level 14) (pre-revised pay scale Rs 37,400-67,000 (PB 4) with grade pay of Rs 10,000) for a tenure of 5 years or attaining the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier”, the notification read.
The application form is available on the official websites, education.gov.in and nios.ac.in. Candidates can also send their application through email addressed to ‘Shri Armstrong Pame, (Director) of Government of India, Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Room No. 327, C-Wing, Shastri B’.

NIOS Chairman Recruitment: Eligibility criteria
Person holding officer positions in central and state government, universities, central educational institutions, central autonomous bodies, recognised research institutions or public sector undertakings are eligible to apply for the position of chairman at NIOS.
Those holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department are also eligible.
