Education Ministry organises Janbhagidari events leading to G20 Education Working Group meeting

G20: Starting today, the events will focus on foundational learning and numeracy. Exhibitions, workshops, seminars to be held till June 15.
NEW DELHI: Starting from today, June 1, ministry of education s organising a series of Janbhagidari events nationwide in the lead up to the Education Working Group meeting of the G20 in Pune from June 19-21. The events will include a series of activities and programmes on the theme of “ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy” based on a blended learning approach.
The Janbhagidari events will be conducted with the state and union territories governments. It will include workshops, exhibitions, seminars and conferences and will be conducted at district, block, panchayat and school levels. Beginning today, the Janbhagidari event will continue till June 15.

The Janbhagidari event will conclude with the G-20 fourth Education Working Group (EWG) discussion in Pune, Maharashtra. The G-20 4th EWG will be held from June 19 to June 21, after which an education ministerial meeting will be held on June 22.
'Pride' in NEP 2020
The education ministry will also organise exhibitions on best practices in school, higher and skill education from June 17 to June 22. A two-day national conference will be conducted on June 17 and 18 on foundation literacy and numeracy (FLN). The event aims to raise awareness and a “sense of pride” among teachers, parents, students and the community about G20, NEP and FLN.
The FLN policy is a recommendation in the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to encourage primary school students’ ability to read basic literacy texts and solve basic numeracy problems. The NEP 2020 has recommended attaining FLN for students of Class 3 level. The 2023 G-20 summit is set to be organised on September 9 and 10.
