GATE 2024: IISc Bangalore opens admissions to MTech in Sustainable Technologies

Check NowNEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has commenced admissions to MTech programme in sustainable technologies for the academic session 2024-25. MTech admissions will be offered through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024. Eligible candidates can apply for the IISc MTech admissions through the official website, admissions.iisc.ac.in. The last date to apply for the new MTech programme is March 22, 2024.

GATE 2024 result will be declared on March 16. GATE exam 2024 was conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11.

The two-year MTech programme in sustainable technologies is offered by the Centre for Sustainable Technologies (CST) at IISc. There are only 10 seats in the programme. Students will get options of specialization in water, energy, and buildings.
As per the eligibility criteria, students having a minimum of second class or equivalent in BTech (mechanical/biotechnology) or bachelor’s degree in architecture or master’s degree (chemistry/biology/management) are eligible.
The GATE 2024 papers which are eligible for admission to the MTech programme are:
- Architecture and Planning (AR)
- Biotechnology (BT)
- Civil Engineering (CH)
- Chemistry (CY)
- Environmental Science and Engineering (ES)
- Mechanical Engineering (ME)
- Engineering Sciences (XE)
- Life Sciences (XL)
To apply for the MTech programme, candidates belonging to the general, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories will have to pay a fee of Rs 800. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be required to make payment of Rs 400.
