GATE 2024 response sheet out at gate2024.iisc.ac.in; marking scheme

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore) has released the GATE 2024 response sheet. Students who appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2024) can download the response sheet on the official website, gate2024.iisc.ac.in. IISc Bangalore will release the GATE 2024 answer key on February 21.

The GATE 2024 response sheet will contain the options marked by the candidates. Students will be able to calculate the GATE 2024 score using the response sheet and answer key. Students had to attempt three types of questions – multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. All of the questions will be worth 1 or 2 marks.

Marking scheme

Students will be awarded marks as per the following criteria:

• MCQs - 1 mark for each correct answer while 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong response
• MCQs - 2 marks for each correct answer while 2/3 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.
• There will be no negative marking for NAT and MSQ questions.

The GATE 2024 exam was conducted for 30 papers on February 3, 4, 10, and 11. It is held for admission into postgraduate programmes in IISc Bangalore and Indian institutes of technology (IITs). The exam was conducted in two sessions on exam days - forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

As per exam analysis, students found the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) paper moderate to tough in terms of difficulty level while the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) paper was tougher than last year. The Electrical Engineering (EE) paper was lengthy but comparatively easy.
