GITAM, University of Melbourne to offer joint BSc dual degree programme

Students can directly enroll in Melbourne’s masters program in different disciplines upon completion of the BSc dual degree programme.
NEW DELHI: The University of Melbourne and Gandhi Institute of Technology And Management (GITAM) will offer Indian students four-year bachelor of science dual degree programme. The students who will enroll in the dual degree programme will spend the first two years studying in India, followed by the next two years on campus in Melbourne.
Upon completion, a GITAM statement said, Indian students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from GITAM University and the University of Melbourne. In addition, students can directly enroll in Melbourne’s masters program in different disciplines.

Announcing the launch of the four-year degree programme, Duncan Maskell, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne said: “At the University of Melbourne, we are delighted to continue expanding our programmes to give more Indian students direct pathways to complete their studies.”
“With demand for our existing programmes continuing to grow, we’re pleased to be working together with prestigious local universities to be part of the internationalisation of education in India and at home in Australia,” Maskell added.
Professor Dayananda Siddavattam, Vice-Chancellor of the GITAM (deemed to be University), said: “In partnership with the University of Melbourne, the Bachelor of Science Joint Degree will educate and empower our next generation of scientists and leaders in Science Education. These students will have access to the best opportunities available at home in India at GITAM, and then expand their horizons by studying at the University of Melbourne. This is part of our ambition to transform education and develop our students into successful global citizens”.
