Group D posts merged to create single cadre under new Haryana CET policy, CM tells Vidhan Sabha

NEW DELHI: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar told the Legislative Assembly the government has formed a new policy for conducting the state common eligibility test (CET). As per, the new CET policy a Group D posts have been brought under a single cadre.

Candidates who will be selected for the Group D posts will also have the option to change their departments on the basis of seniority. “Earlier the candidates have to go through a lengthy selection process for Group D posts. The new government policy has been created to ensure quick recruitment,” he told the house.

He added that the government has also taken several measures to streamline the Group C recruitments. “Recently, 11.22 lakh candidates appeared for CET exam for 35,000 Group C vacancies. A round 3,59,000 candidates have qualified for the next stage. The recruitment is being conducted for a total of 501 Group C posts,” he added.

The CM was replying to a question raised by Tosham MLA Kiran Choudhary. He added tha the Group C posts have been clubbed in 64 different groups to conduct recruitment of jobs that a similar. “All 64 groups have different exams. Since most number of applications were received during the Group No 56 and 57 recruitment process, these papers were conducted first,” he added.

Candidates, who had applied for the examination but the advertisement was withdrawn due to some reason, were given relaxation in the age criteria. Candidates belonging to special category, whose recruitment was withdrawn, were given relaxation till the age of 52 years.
