HP NEET UG Counselling 2026: MBBS fees cross Rs 95 lakh at private medical college

MBBS admission through the Himachal Pradesh NEET UG counselling 2026 will cost up to Rs 95.83 lakh in tuition fees at Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College (MMMC), Kumarhatti, under the Management Quota. The state quota fee for the same college is Rs 50.82 lakh for the full course, according to the final prospectus released by Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh.

The HP MBBS and BDS fee structure has been approved by the Himachal Pradesh government. The prospectus, however, states that the MBBS fee may be reviewed by the state government. The HP MBBS tuition fee at government medical colleges in the state is Rs 40,000 per annum, with the total first-year fee fixed at Rs 60,000.

AMRU has also specified in the prospects that MBBS tuition fees in government and private medical colleges will be charged for four-and-a-half years instead of five years. During the fifth year, students will pay half of the annual tuition fee.

HP NEET UG 2026: Government medical college fees

Students admitted to government medical colleges will have to pay a total of Rs 60,000 in the first year of MBBS. This includes a tuition fee of Rs 40,000, admission fee of Rs 4,000, student fund of Rs 4,000, medical fund of Rs 3,000, refundable security of Rs 6,000 and dilapidated fund of Rs 3,000.

From the second to the fifth year, the annual fee is Rs 50,000. NRI MBBS candidates will have to pay USD 20,000 per annum or the equivalent amount in Indian rupees.

HP NEET UG Counselling 2026: MMMC MBBS fee

The five-year fee structure at MMMC Kumarhatti varies significantly according to the admission quota.

For the management quota, the annual fee rises from Rs 15.97 lakh in the first year to Rs 22.36 lakh in the final year. Under the state quota, the first-year fee is Rs 8.47 lakh and the final-year fee is Rs 11.85 lakh.

The college will charge hostel fees of Rs 31,500 for single occupancy, Rs 25,200 for double occupancy and Rs 18,900 for triple occupancy for the 2026-27 academic session. Additional charges may apply for students opting for air-conditioning, heating or other facilities.

The prospectus also states that MMMC cannot charge institutional development charges or building funds from new or existing students.

HP NEET UG Counselling 2026: BDS fee at government colleges

The first-year BDS fee at government medical and dental institutions is Rs 45,000. From the second to the fourth year, students will pay Rs 37,000 per annum. NRI BDS candidates will have to pay USD 10,000 per annum or the equivalent amount in rupees.

The hostel fee for MBBS and BDS students in government institutions is Rs 24,200. A refundable hostel security deposit of Rs 3,000 will be charged once.

BDS fees increase by 5% in private dental colleges

The prospectus states that the BDS tuition fee for State and Management Quota seats in private unaided dental colleges has been increased by 5% for the 2026-27 academic session. The increase has been made on the recommendations of the admission and fee committee.

The revised annual fee structure includes Rs 1,50,556 tuition fee for State Quota candidates and Rs 2,62,500 for Management Quota candidates.

AMRU said in the prospectus that the private unaided dental college fee structure is under review at the government level and will be applicable as notified by the Himachal Pradesh government for the 2026-27 academic session.

BPL, PwD students get fee exemptions

The prospectus states that no tuition fee will be charged from BPL category students admitted to MBBS and BDS courses in government medical and dental colleges, irrespective of their quota or domicile status. Candidates will have to submit the latest BPL certificate while paying the annual fee.

Students with special needs having more than 40% disability who are admitted to any course affiliated with AMRU will also not be charged fees, according to the prospectus.

HP NEET UG Counselling 2026: Fee payment, refund rules

Students have to pay their fees within the prescribed deadline. At government institutions, a student who fails to pay the fee within the specified period can have their seat declared vacant and filled in the next counselling round.

For private dental colleges, students discontinuing the BDS course midway may be required to provide a bank guarantee covering the remaining course fee. The college can encash the guarantee if the student leaves the course before completion.

The prospectus states that fees are generally non-refundable if a student withdraws after the last date of admission. However, in case of shifting or migration between institutions within the stipulated admission deadline, the fee will be refunded or adjusted subject to the prospectus provisions.

HP NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule

The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, will conduct the HP NEET UG 2026 counselling in multiple rounds for MBBS and BDS admissions. The first-round application process will be open from August 13 to 17, 2026, followed by the provisional and final merit lists on August 18 and 19.

Candidates can fill their course, college and quota preferences from August 21 to 23. The provisional seat allotment will be announced on August 25 and the final seat allotment on August 26, with candidates required to join the allotted college on August 28 or 29.
