NEW DELHI: The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has declared the Haryana Civil Services (HCS 2023) preliminary results for executive branch and other allied services. The list of candidates shortlisted for HPSC HCS Main exam 2023 has been published on the official website, hpsc.gov.in, to fill 121 posts advertised.
The commission has tentatively scheduled the HPSC HCS Main 2024 exam on March 30 and 31. “While preparing the result, due care has been taken. However, any inadvertent error cannot be ruled out' The Commission reserves its right to rectify any error at a later stage,” the HPSC said.
The prelims exams 2024 comprise two papers carrying 200 marks. Paper 1 on general studies and paper 2 on civil services aptitude test carry 100 marks each. For each wrong answer, one fourth of the marks will be deducted. Candidates will have to obtain 33% minimum qualifying marks in paper 2.
Based on the preliminary examination result, candidates twelve times the number of vacancies announced, in order of merit, will be allowed to appear in the Main exam.
The shortlisted candidates will have to choose one out of the 29 optional subjects to appear in the Main exams. They will have to enter the choice of subject during the application process for the next stage. The final selection will be based on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main written examination and personality test or viva-voce out of 675 marks.
In case of tie between two or more candidates, those securing higher marks in the compulsory papers will be ranked higher in the merit list.
