IIIT Allahabad launches MTech Quantum Information, Technologies; fellowship for GATE-qualified candidates

Candidates will be admitted to IIIT Allahabad for QIT programme through Centralized Counselling for MTech Admissions (CCMT). They can apply at ccmt.admissions.nic.in.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) has opened the admissions for its 2-year MTech programme in Quantum Information and Technologies (QIT). The 4-semester multidisciplinary programme is designed to create skilled professionals for the quantum ecosystem.
The QIT programme also includes several key features, including Quantum Computing and Simulation, Quantum Information and Communication, Quantum Materials and Devices Quantum Neural Networks, Quantum, and Post-Quantum Cryptography fellowships for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-qualified candidates.
Candidates will be admitted to IIIT Allahabad for QIT programme through Centralized Counselling for MTech Admissions (CCMT), according to the official website.

As per the eligibility criteria, those with Class 12 passing certificate with Physics and Mathematics, along with 4-year BTech, BE, BSc, or MSc, integrated BSMS with GATE in PH, DA, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, ME, MA, ST, and XE can apply at ccmt.admissions.nic.in.
“Institute Spot Round would be available for non-GATE candidates for the vacant seats,” it said.
There are a total of 25 MTech seats for admission to the QIT programme. Enrolled candidates will have the opportunity for training, internship, project opportunities at CDAC Pune, HRI Allahabad, IIT, MIISER Pune, IIT Bombay, tech, it added.
The QIT programme is designed to equip a skilled workforce through lectures, training, and research to meet the growing demand for expertise in quantum fields, the institute said.
“To create future-ready manpower who will be able to contribute congruously to the goals set by the National Quantum Mission. To develop an industry-ready workforce in the area of quantum computing and technologies. To promote the transition from theoretical concepts and prototypes to commercial, real-world quantum technologies in sectors like finance, healthcare, and defense,” it said.
As per the pedagogy of the programme, students will be trained in the areas of quantum computation, quantum information, quantum materials and devices, and other information technologies so that they can choose a definite career path, the technology institute said.
