IIT Delhi launches second batch of EV and charging infrastructure certificate programme

Download NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced the launch of the second batch of the certificate programme on Fundamentals of EVs and Charging Infrastructure. As per the institute, this programme will focus on developing new products, processes, and infrastructure that promote sustainability and protect the environment.

This is a five-month and 55-hour long online learning programme designed for mid-career professionals that will equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in the growing electric vehicle industry. As per the institute, enrolling in this certificate programme will provide skills for careers in EV charging infrastructure, fundamentals of EVs and motors, battery technology, communication and security, protection of EV chargers, etc.
The program will utilize the state-of-the-art interactive learning (IL) platform and will be delivered in direct-to-device (D2D) mode. Upon completion of the certificate programme learners can explore careers as battery engineers, charging infrastructure specialists, power electronics engineers, hardware engineers, and more, the institute said.

IIT Delhi’s certificate programme on EVs
According to the official press release, this certificate programme is designed to meet the evolving needs of the electric vehicles (EV) sector, fuelled by government policies and initiatives promoting EVs. The inaugural cohort included professionals from diverse backgrounds, including electrical and electronics, automotive, energy, computer networking, software, information technology (IT), and more.
Speaking at the announcement, professor of IIT Delhi, Santanu Kumar Mishra, said, "IIT Delhi takes great pride in introducing the certificate programme on fundamentals of EVs and charging infrastructure, aiming to provide professionals with a transformative learning experience in mastering the intricacies of electric vehicles. This initiative offers learners the opportunity to delve deeply into the complexities of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. Through this programme, we endeavour to foster innovation, propel industry advancement, and chart a course towards a greener, more sustainable future."
