The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has launched three fully residential six-month postgraduate diploma programmes. The programmes are the PG Diploma in AI and Agentic AI Engineering, PG Diploma in GenAI and Data Science Engineering, and PG Diploma in AI-Powered Software Engineering with Cloud.

The programmes are offered through the IIT Gandhinagar Competency Development Foundation in collaboration with Futurense Technologies. As per the institute, each programme offers over 600 hours of intensive learning combining project-based and faculty-led instruction.

The curriculum is designed to provide skills equivalent to approximately two years of industry experience, with students building and deploying enterprise-grade AI, data science, and software engineering solutions during the programme.

IIT Gandhinagar: Admission via AINPT, interviews

The institute offers admission to the programmes through the All India National Proficiency Test (AINPT), followed by a multi-stage interview. Each programme will admit 60 candidates, who will stay on IIT Gandhinagar’s campus and receive guidance from faculty and industry professionals.

The programmes include initiatives such as AI clinics, product deconstruction exercises, competitive coding, and applied AI solution development. Graduates will receive placement support, executive alumni status, and access to a professional network of IIT alumni and industry leaders.

The programmes are scheduled to begin in February 2026. According to official press release, the learning model emphasises 70% project-based learning and 30% faculty-led instruction, supported by continuous mentorship and career development resources.

Futurense complements IIT Gandhinagar’s academic programmes with industry-focused learning components. As per the institute, the Futurense AI Clinic allows students to interact with technical leaders from Fortune 500 companies. These sessions focus on real architectural challenges and production system issues.

The Futurense Leadership Council also provides mentorship from over 40 global CXOs and CTOs from leading technology organisations. Students receive guidance on industry practices, technology strategy, and leadership approaches.

“Together, IIT Gandhinagar and Futurense create outcome-focused programs where graduates demonstrate capabilities through verifiable portfolios of deployed systems,” the official press release said.

“IIT Gandhinagar represents the new generation of India’s IITs, agile, applied, and innovation-first. Through this collaboration, we are building engineers who can think in systems, not silos,” said Raghav Gupta, CEO of Futurense.
