IIT JAM 2024 registration ends today at jam.iitm.ac.in; what’s next
IIT JAM will be conducted for admission to MSc, MTech and other PG programmes of IITs and IISc Bangalore on February 11, 2024.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) will close the registration window for the Joint Admission test for Masters (IIT JAM 2024) today. Candidates aspiring to pursue PG programmes at IITs or Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bangalore) can apply at jam.iitm.ac.in.
The IIT Madras is conducting the examination for seven test papers – chemistry, geology, mathematics, biotechnology, economics, physics and mathematical statistics. Candidates can appear in either one or two test paper(s). In case, a student applies for two papers, the candidate has to ensure that these are not scheduled in the same session.
The chemistry, geology, mathematics papers will be held in forenoon session while biotechnology, economics, physics and mathematical statistics will be held in the afternoon.
JAM 2024: Admitting institutes
JAM 2024 scores will be used for admission to around 3,000 PG programmes such as MSc, MSc (Tech), MS Research, MSc-MTech (dual degree), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD (dual degree) in various IITs and IISc Bangalore. The scores are also used by institutes such as Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER Pune), and Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE). JAM 2024: Exam pattern
The JAM 2024 exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) where the questions will be displayed in a random sequence. The students will have to attempt 60 questions, carrying 100 marks, in three 3 hours. Each paper will be divided into three sections. Section A will have 30 multiple choice questions. Section B will have 10 multiple selection questions while section C will have 20 numerical answer types. Students will be allowed to use online virtual calculators.
