IIT Roorkee hosts Indo-Europe Heritage Network General Assembly 2024; participating universities
The theme for the Heritage Network General Assembly was "Sustainability: Teaching, research, and innovation".

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) organized the Heritage Network General Assembly Meeting 2024 from April 8 to 11, which brought together member universities from both Europe and India. The Heritage Network marks the first collaboration between India and Europe for fostering educational and research partnerships across multiple fields.
Heritage Network is backed by over 30 prominent technical higher education institutions, engaging in joint research and academic activities aimed at addressing shared interest and the well -being of society.
The theme for the Heritage Network General Assembly was "Sustainability: Teaching, Research, and Innovation". The Heritage Network aims to enhance collaboration in higher education, focusing on research and training initiatives, and promoting academic and research exchanges among partner institutions. Additionally, it strives to cultivate advanced educational programs in engineering, sciences, design, and technology, bridging the gap between Europe and India. The Network frequently hosts workshops on shared scientific and technical interests.
IIT Roorkee Heritage Network General Assembly: Members
The members include 13 universities from 10 European countries and 16 Indian institutes. At the meeting, institutions from Europe and India discussed strengthening their current partnerships and put forth plans to enrich network-related activities. The members include the following universities.

IIT Roorkee Heritage Network General Assembly: New roles
During the meeting, in addition to addressing matters of international collaboration and thematic subjects, the General Assembly observed the transition of leadership roles for the president and vice-president of the Heritage Network. Teresa Zielinska, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland was elected as the president of Heritage Network, and Vimal C Srivastava, IIT Roorkee, professor was elected as the vice-president of the Heritage Network.
