NEW DELHI: In the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, Delhi University is preparing for the admissions season.
The dean, admissions, Shobha Bagai has written to colleges asking them to place all relevant details online and also share with the university so that the Delhi University Entrance Test, or DUET 2020, goes smoothly despite the “unprecedented challenge”.
Considering that the university may have to conduct even admissions before the COVID-19 has stopped raging through the population, the April 9 letter says that it now becomes “more imperative to have the complete admission process online, which also includes the online verification of the certificates”.
The letter tells principals that there has been a “conscious effort to minimize visits of students for physical verification of the mandatory documents” and also that the university has already held several meeting on how to do it.
However, there is no word yet on one of the most critical factors in university admissions – board exam results. In most states, boards exams are yet to end.
The details
Delhi University admission branch has asked colleges to share details of additional eligibility criteria with the university by April 13. Additional eligibility criteria are set by the colleges for certain subject depending on their specific requirements.
