Earlier, the matter was taken up by Chief Justice SV Gangapurwala of the Bombay High Court and Justice Sandeep V. Marne on March 1, 2023. The High Court ordered the government and National Testing Agency (NTA) to present the necessary documents and data with regard to the 75 percent qualifying requirement for the JEE Main 2023 exam.
The matter was postponed for another hearing until April 6, 2023. The next hearing was set again by the Bombay High Court for today.

“The marks scored by them is not a true reflection of their actual ability therefore those students with less marks than the eligibility criteria (75%) for this year’s examinations can score very high marks in the upcoming JEE Main 2023, and if a fair chance is denied to them that will affect the future (of) lakhs of bright (students)”, reads the PIL filed by the petitioners.
NTA is currently conducting the JEE Main 2023 Session 2 exam. The exams started on April 6 and will be held till April 15, 2023. The exam for BE and BTech papers is being held today in two slots. Candidates are required to carry their JEE Main 2023 admit card to the exam hall which is available for download at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
