The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the JEE Mains 2025 April 2 exam in two shifts – shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm. In both the shifts, the mathematics section was, surprisingly, reported to be easier in comparison to the JEE Main 2025 January session.
As per student reactions, the math section in the JEE Main 2025 session 2 day 1 was a bit time-consuming but not that lengthy as compared to the last session. In fact, physics and chemistry sections proved to be challenging for the examinees.
As per JEE Main April 2 exam analysis 2025 , both physics and chemistry sections were harder than the JEE Main 2025 1st attempt. The math section was relatively easy.
By the end of JEE Main 2025 session 2 day 1 exam, the mathematics section remained easy as per JEE Main 2025 April 2 shift 2 exam analysis . However, experts and candidates noted a higher difficulty level of the JEE Main 2025 2nd attempt as compared to last year’s session 2.
This year, NTA has removed optional questions from section B of JEE Main 2025 paper 1 (BE, BTech) and paper 2A and 2B (BArch and BPlanning).
Now, the question is whether NTA will maintain the same difficulty level of mathematics section, especially, throughout the JEE Main session 2 exam 2025 which will continue till April 9. The change in difficulty may also affect the expected JEE Main marks vs percentile 2025 and JEE Main cut-off 2025.
