NTA released the provisional key on April 11 and provided candidates two days window to raise objections against the same. Candidates who want to raise objections should make sure to do it before deadline (11:50 pm), as objections submitted after that will not be considered by the Agency.

NTA acknowledges Chemistry paper issues
Reports of discrepancies in the JEE Main 2026 Chemistry paper (April 5, Session 2) surfaced on social media. NTA initially advised candidates not to make any payments for raising challenges related to these concerns until an official clarification was issued. Hours later, the agency clarified that candidates may review the provisional answer keys and, if required, raise objections through the prescribed challenge process as per the SOP.

How to raise objections against JEE Mains 2026 provisional answer key?
Candidates can follow these steps to raise objections.
- Go to the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in
- On the homepage, look for the answer key link
- Log in using your registration number
- Select the questions you wish to challenge
- Pay the fee of Rs 200 per question
- Click on submit and download the confirmation page for future references
Following the process, the panel will review the objections raised. If any objection is found valid, it will be rectified and reflected in the final answer key. Usually, NTA releases the final answer key 1–2 hours before the result. Going by this trend, the final answer key is expected on April 20.
NTA conducted the JEE Main Session 2 exams between April 2 and 8 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 566 centres for around 11.23 lakh candidates. For Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), approximately 11.06 lakh candidates registered domestically and 4,229 internationally, and attendance was recorded at 93%. For Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning), approximately 54,953 candidates registered domestically and 270 internationally, with 73% attendance. Candidates found JEE Main 2026 session 2 difficulty level as moderate.
The registration process was conducted between February 1 and 25, and admit cards were released in phases on March 29 and April 1.
