JEE Mains marks vs percentile is unique for each session, since the exam is held on multiple days and shifts. The testing agency uses a normalisation process to prepare the JEE Mains 2026 results.
For the aspirants who appeared in both sessions, the best percentile score is taken into consideration to prepare the results. All India Ranks and eligibility for JEE Advanced are based on percentile scores and not raw marks.
A score of 100 marks in JEE Main is considered good for candidates from reserved categories, while a 93 percentile for general category candidates is regarded as average. Candidates with a 93 percentile are eligible for admission to certain IIITs and GFTIs, depending on their category and chosen course.
However, securing popular or highly competitive branches is unlikely with this score. With around 100 marks in JEE Main, candidates may still gain admission to government institutes in branches like civil, mechanical, power engineering, and similar fields.
