JEE Main Paper 2 Result Announced

NEW DELHI, MAY 31: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the result of JEE Main Paper 2 in online mode on May 30. With the help of paper 2 result candidates will be able to know their marks and All India and Category-wise Ranks. These marks and All India and Category-wise Ranks will help candidates to know whether they are eligible for admission procedure or not. In order to check their result candidates will have to log-in to their account using their application/roll number and date of birth.

Paper 2 of JEE Main was held on April 8 in offline mode to screen the candidates who were seeking admission to B.Arch/B.Planning programmes offered by various Centrally funded Technical institutes (CFTIs), National Institute of Technology (NITs) and top colleges accepting paper 2 scores.

How to check JEE Main Paper 2 result

Follow the mentioned below steps to check the result:

• Visit the applicant dashboard
• Enter JEE Main application or roll number and date of birth and
• Click on ‘Submit’ tab
• The result will display on the screen.
• Download it in PDF format and take a print out of it for further admission process

What if a tie exists between two or more candidates?

If two or more candidates score equal marks, then the formulae of inter-se-merit will be applicable. Mentioned below is criteria under which merit of 2 such candidates will be decided:

• Candidate with higher marks in aptitude test will be awarded better rank

If a tie still exists,

• The candidate having higher marks in drawing test will be given a better rank

If a tie still exists,

• Then the ratio of positive and negative marks will be used. Candidates with a higher absolute value of the ratio will be awarded higher rank

If a tie still exists

• Then finally such candidates will be given the same rank

Also, candidates must be aware that for preparing the rank list of Paper 2, class XII marks will not be considered for normalization. This rule is applicable from 2018.

What after result?

After the result is declared, shortlisted candidates need to participate in counselling session conducted by JoSSA. The counselling and seat allotment is accepted to be held in 7 rounds in the second week of June tentatively. During the counselling process, candidates will be required to register and fill the choices of the colleges in order of their preference. Based on the merit list and preference, candidates will be allotted seats.
