JNU, NCHMCT to launch UG, PG programmes in hospitality from next academic year
JNU will be awarding UG, PG degrees to students enrolled in NCHMCT's flagship programmes- BSc and MSc in hospitality and hotel administration.

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) partner to launch new undergraduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) programmes in hospitality under the ministry of tourism.
The agreement signed towards recognition of NCHMCT’s flagship UG and PG Degree programmes in hospitality, BSc and MSc in HHA (hospitality and hotel administration). Pass-out students will be awarded degrees from the JNU after completion of their programmes from next academic year.

The minister of tourism and culture, G Kishan Reddy, urged the students, NCHMCT and JNU, to undertake research towards branding of tourism. He said that the Indian government has decided to open Tourism clubs in hotel management institutes and around 5,000 such clubs have already been started.
“This MoU entails academic collaboration between JNU and NCHMCT and will also foster research in the sector. Of the 93 institutes, 21 are central IHMs, and 17 of these offer PG courses. So, students of all institutes under the NCHMCT who will enrol in UG and PG degree courses in HHA from academic year 2023-24 onwards will benefit from the MoU,” said NCHMCT, director, LK Ganguli.
According to a press statement, students from IHMs under the academic umbrella of NCHMCT will be receiving the Degrees from JNU, this will immensely benefit them in employment and enrolment into higher studies in foreign Universities.
