KCET 2021 eligibility criteria relaxed; Check all details here

New Delhi: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the KCET 2021 eligibility criteria along with the release of the official brochure . The authorities have relaxed the minimum marks of the qualifying exam. Students who passed Class 12 or PUC are eligible to apply for the KCET 2021 exam. Earlier, students had to have a minimum of 45% in the qualifying examination to be eligible to apply. Candidates who are appearing in the KCET 2021 exam need to check all the eligibility criteria before filling the KCET application form 2021 .

KCET eligibility criteria 2021 include age limit, educational qualifications, domicile and nativity. Applicants have to make sure they meet the eligibility requirements to participate in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).

Candidates who are applying for the KCET 2021 exam can check the eligibility details below.

Nationality: He/She should be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualifications:

• He/She should have passed their Class 12 or PUC exam. Those who have appeared in their Class 12 or PUC exam in 2021 and are awaiting their result can also apply for KCET exam 2021.

• Students who have passed their qualifying exam/ Class 12/ PUC from Karnataka State Open University are not eligible to apply for the entrance test.

• He/She should have physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their Class 12 along with Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics as optional subjects with English as one of the study languages.

Nativity (For Admission to Government Seats)

• He/She must have pursued in one or more Government or Government recognized institutions located in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years commencing from Class 1 to 2nd PUC / Class 12 as on July 1, 2021, and have appeared and passed either SSLC / Class 10 or 2nd PUC / Class 12 exam from Karnataka State.

• He/She must have pursued and passed either 1st & 2nd year PUC or Class 11 and 12 exam within Karnataka from a recognized institution and that either of the parents should have pursued in Karnataka for a minimum period of 7 years.

• A student who is the son or daughter of defence personnel who has worked continuously in Karnataka state for a minimum period of one year in Karnataka during the 2 years period of study of candidates in PUC / Class 11 and 12.

• Wards of serving or retired employee in Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), whose parents at the time of joining the CAPF Service had mentioned that his/her home town was in Karnataka, has to submit proof of his/her domicile from the Record Office of the Central Armed Police Force unit where the Parent’s service record is maintained.

• In this category, the candidates should have cleared the qualifying exam from a recognised Board or any other institution located anywhere in India.
