The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Maharashtra government to cut the school fees by 15%. Parents now will have to pay only 85% of the fees for the current academic year.
Schools in the state continue to remain shut due to the pandemic. Parents have been demanding the state government to reduce the school fees of their children. The decision to cut the school fees will give major relief to parents and children in these turbulent times.
Various media reports said the government will take strict action against those schools that do not adhere to the current fee structure decision. The government will issue a detailed order in this matter soon.
On July 15, the state government had allowed schools to resume offline classes for Classed 8 to 12 in the rural areas. Talking about the possibility of a third wave, Gaikwad had directed that all teachers and school staff must be vaccinated on a priority basis. She had also advised schools to strictly abide by the COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols.
A blended approach to education is the need of the hour in these difficult times. While we continue to promote remote learning & online education, we are also working towards safe resumption of schools in corona free villages. #BacktoSchool @CMOMaharashtra @bb_thorat pic.twitter.com/JKRugk7Vhz
