MHRD invites application for Visva-Bharati VC post

NEW DELHI, APRIL 2: The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has invited application for the post of the Vice Chancellor of Visva-Bharati University. The Central University has been functioning without a full-time VC for the nearly two years.
The appointment will be made from a panel of names recommended by the Search Committee
constituted under the provisions of Visva-Bharati Act.
Prof Sushanta Dattagupta, the former VC of the University was removed from his post in February 2016 after serious charges were found to be true against him.
Two decision-making bodies of Visva Bharati Executive Council (EC) and the Court have constituted the Search Committee to finalize the new Vice-Chancellor after approval from the Prime Minister of India who is the Chancellor of the University.
