MHT CET 2019 to be held online; DTE Maharashtra releases marking scheme & syllabus

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 17- DTE Maharashtra has cleared the air regarding MHT CET being conducted online or not. The exam conducting authority has released the notification where they have made clear that MHT CET 2019 will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode only. Further in the notification, they have released the marking scheme and syllabus of MHT CET 2019.

From released marking scheme, it has been found out that there will be no negative marking. However, the difficulty level will be at par with the JEE Main for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. While for Biology it will be on par with NEET. Also, it has been highlighted that question will be application based.
Talking about the weightage of the syllabus, authorities have stated that 20 percentage weightage will be given to class 11 curriculum, whereas 80% will be given to class 12. Like the previous year, there will be two papers- Paper- I for Mathematics and Paper-II for Physics and Chemistry. Both the papers will be of 100 marks each conducted for 90 minutes each.

Earlier, DTE Maharashtra use to conduct MHT CET in the offline mode. MHT CET was re-introduced in the year 2016. The state level entrance exam is conducted for the candidates who are seeking admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes offered by its participating institutes. Earlier, (in 2014 and 2015) the state level engineering colleges use to offer admission to the candidates based on their JEE Main score.
The application form of MHT CET 2019 for the entrance exam will be released in online mode tentatively in the third week of January.
