NBEMS warns FMGE aspirants of social media groups selling question papers

NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has issued a notice of caution regarding a few social media groups that have been fraudulently trying to deceive Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) candidates in pretext of providing question papers for the FMGE December 2022 exam.

The board has registered a police compliant against the fraudsters for misuse of NBEMS logo and for their attempt to fool the candidates in the name of providing questions for the exam in exchange of a considerable sum of money. The authorities also warn candidates that any direct or indirect indulgence in such activities will be dealt by the NBEMS appropriately.

"By the present notice, applicants for FMGE December 2022 are hereby cautioned not to be allured or misled by such unscrupulous elements who are befooling FMGE aspirants by claiming to have questions of upcoming FMGE December 2022 accessed through “the authority," read the NBEMS official notice.

In other news, FMGE candidates that have cleared their examinations are questioning the authorities as to why the FMGE unpaid internship period has been increased to 2 years as compared to the 1-year previously. While other candidates request NBEMS to begin internships and allotment of colleges six months after the exam.

The candidates, who appeared in exams in the foreign medical graduate exam (FMGE) in December 2021 and June 2022, are in their first year of internship after clearing the exam but according to the new National Medical Commission (NMC) order, which came out in July 2022 and required candidates to complete two years of internship in view of Covid-19 and online classes.

The NMC recently announced that a medical student who has studied outside India is required to do an unpaid internship in India for at least two years to get through the Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) CRMI norm.
