The decision to implement the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus was taken in November last year. The board also said it will introduce a dress code from this academic year 2023.
In a step to modernise madrassa education in the state, the board had said that the religious education will be taught to students for just an hour from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM and will be conducting classes of general subjects from 8 AM to 2 PM.
The efforts to modernise of madrassas are being taken to help students join the academic mainstream, the Waqf board said earlier.
