NEET 2020 Dress Code: Know what to wear; NTA exam day safety guidelines

NEW DELHI: The exam conducting authority, National Testing Agency (NTA) for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET has specified the dress code for male and female aspirants. NTA has made certain necessary additions to the NEET dress code 2020. These additions have been made keeping in mind COVID-19 regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drafted by the top medical experts of All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS). It is mandatory for aspirants to adhere to the dress code specified for boys and girls.

NEET 2020 dress code has been implemented and followed for smooth conduct of exam. The authorities have also released NTA NEET COVID-19 advisory for NEET aspirants which gives guidelines on maintaining a safe and secure environment for all the people - from candidates to staff involved in successfully conducting the examination.

Changes in NEET dress code 2020

NTA has made it necessary for candidates to follow the below-mentioned guidelines pertaining to the dress code of NEET 2020:

• Wear masks and gloves to the examination centre.

• Carry a transparent water bottle for personal use.

• Carry hand sanitizer (50 ml).

It has also been informed by the authorities that candidates will be provided with masks and gloves at the examination centre also.

NEET 2020 dress code for boys

• Half sleeves shirts or T-shirts are only allowed.

• Light clothes without or fewer zip, pockets, big buttons and embroidery

• Trousers, simple pants can be worn. No kurta pyjama

• Only sandals and chappals are allowed in the NEET exam hall. Shoes are prohibited

NEET dress code for girls

• No clothes with elaborate embroidery, flowers, brooches and more are allowed

• Only half-sleeves top or clothes can be worn on the exam day

• Girls with big pockets and fashionable jeans cannot be permitted. Female aspirants should avoid wearing jeans

• Low heel footwear, sandals or chappals are allowed as per the dress code of NEET

• No ornaments like earrings, nose rings, pendants, necklace bracelets and anklets should be worn by female NEET candidates

Changes in NEET exam day guidelines

There are also certain significant changes in the exam day guidelines of NEET 2020 laid down by the authorities. They are as follows:

• Candidates have been provided with slot timings for reporting to the examination centre in order to maintain crowd outside the NEET exam centres.

• There will be queue manager/ropes placed in a way so as to funnel candidates within the roped area for a candidate to stand in the separate line of (up to 20 girls, up to 20 boys) at any point of time.

• Inside the examination hall also candidates will be seated with space in between. Every two candidates will have a vacant seat between them.

• Loud hailer will be used to call candidates as per their time slots

NEET exam 2020

NEET exam will be held on September 13, 2020, in pen and paper mode. To follow the norms of social distancing amid COVID-19, the exam centres have been increased from 2,546 to 3,842 cities in India. NEET admit card with self-declaration form has been issued to the registered aspirants on August 26, 2020, which must be carried at the test centre. Along with the hall ticket, valid ID proof, a passport size photograph should be carried for verification.

The question paper contains 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. As per the marking scheme, four marks to be awarded for correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for a wrong attempt.
