The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling schedule soon on the official website of MCC at mcc.nic.in. Around 11.28 lakh candidates who have qualified the NEET exam this year and are seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses are awaiting the counselling schedule.

As per the seat matrix released by the National Medical Commission (NMC) , a total of 1,36,939 seats have been offered for the MCC NEET UG counselling 2026 process.

Last year, the MCC released the NEET UG schedule on July 12, 2025 and the registration for round 1 began on July 21, 2025 and the allotment result was out on July 31, 2025.

NEET UG Counselling 2026: Seats covered under MCC

MCC conducts NEET UG counselling 2026 for the following seats:

  • 15% All India Quota seats MBBS and BDS seats of states
  • 100% MBBS and BDS Seats of BHU OPEN
  • AIIMS Open Seats: 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
  • JIPMER Open (Puducherry and Karaikal) and internal seats (Domicile)
  • AMU open and internal seats
  • 85% Internal quota/domicile seats of DU, IP University (VMMC/
  • ABVIMS/ESIC Dental)
  • Jamia Open seats- Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia) and internal seats
  • 15% All India Quota Seats of ESIC & Insured Persons quota seats
  • AFMC: Only registration
  • 100% BSc (Nursing) of selected Central BSc Nursing Institutes
  • Counselling under MCC shall include 100% seats of Deemed Universities, including 15% NRI seats

Seat matrix details

According to the NMC NEET seat matrix, government medical colleges now offer 63,296 MBBS seats, while private medical colleges have 73,643 seats. This marks an overall increase of 9,911 MBBS seats compared to the previous year.

For the 2026–27 academic session, 2,111 seats have been added in government medical colleges, while 7,800 new seats have been introduced in private medical colleges.
