Re-NEET 2026 admit cards out; students report confusion over refund process

While releasing the admit cards for re-NEET 2026 exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) asked candidates to verify their bank account details for fee refunds before downloading the same.

In a post on X at 7:01 pm, NTA informed candidates that the admit card for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) re-examination was available on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The post reads, “Before downloading the admit card, please verify your Bank Account details for refund.” The agency also shared helpline numbers for candidates facing difficulties.

Soon after the announcement, several candidates took to social media to report issues related to bank account verification and admit card downloads. Some students said they had already submitted their bank details earlier and assumed they could click the 'Skip' option, as they were unaware that the information needed to be verified or entered again.

One candidate wrote that he clicked the "Skip" option assuming their previously submitted bank details were already saved and later realised this could affect their refund eligibility. Another candidate said there was no clear warning indicating that skipping the verification step would require them to submit their details again and tagged NTA for help.

Technical glitches, heavy traffic

Several aspirants also complained about technical glitches and heavy traffic on the website. Users reported difficulties accessing the refund verification page and downloading their admit cards. Some urged NTA to improve server performance, while others sought clarification on the refund process.

Responding to the concerns later in the evening, NTA posted that around one lakh candidates had already downloaded their admit cards. The agency clarified that the bank account verification feature, accessible after login through two-factor authentication, had been introduced in the interest of students to facilitate the refund process.

"Around 100,000 students have already downloaded their Admit Cards. The functionality of verifying your Bank Account details for refund, after login with 2 factor authentication is in the interest of students only," NTA said in a post on X around 11 pm.

The agency acknowledged that its servers were experiencing heavy load due to a large number of candidates accessing the portal simultaneously. However, it assured students that technical teams were working to ensure that all candidates could successfully download their admit cards before the examination.

NTA will conduct NEET 2026 re-examination on June 21. Candidates must download their admit cards well in advance and carefully complete all required verification steps to avoid last-minute issues.
