NEET PG 2021: The resident doctors across the country intensified their agitation and sought the withdrawal of police cases lodged against doctors.

Use NowNEW DELHI: Considering various factors including patient care, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has called off the strike over delay in NEET PG 2021 Counselling. The decision was taken by the resident doctors’ association after the meeting with the health ministry and Delhi Police.
Earlier, the resident doctors across the country intensified their agitation and sought the withdrawal of police cases lodged against some of their colleagues. The MAMC RDA and FORDA , both have demanded the withdrawal of police cases lodged against some of the protesting doctors after a face-off between the protesters and police personnel in the streets on Monday.
In the latest press release, FORDA said, “A virtual meeting of FORDA with all the RDA representatives was convened late in the evening whereby all the proceedings were conveyed and all concerning points were discussed. It was unanimously decided to call off the agitation on December 31, at 12 pm considering various factors including patient care.”

“FORDA is thankful to all RDAs as well as the resident doctors, media personnel, political parties and citizens of the nation who came forward and supported the agitation,” the official statement read.

FORDA said that the health minister agreed to the following demands in the meeting held on December 29.
- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will submit the committee report to the Supreme Court of India before January 6, 2022, and will submit the NEET PG counselling schedule following the court hearing on January 6.
- The ministry regrets the brutal incident of violence by Delhi police against the resident doctors who were protesting peacefully on December 27, 2021.
- No punitive or disciplinary action will be taken against any resident doctors who took part in the agitation that commenced on November 27, 2021.
- A press conference and the official announcement of the proceedings of the meeting.
