NEET Result 2025: 12.36 lakh qualify for MBBS admission; UP performs best; tougher exam, lower cut-off

The NEET cut-off 2025 has been lowered for all categories. The cut-offs were reduced from 720-162 to 686–144 for the general category candidates. The reduction in the NEET UG cut-off may be because of the difficulty level of this year’s exam. Students had rated the exam tougher compared to the previous years.
A total of 1,70,684 (1.7 lakh) candidates qualified from Uttar Pradesh . Maharashtra ranked second, with 1,25,727 (1.25 lakh) students clearing the entrance exam. Rajasthan, home to India’s coaching hubs Kota and Sikar, saw 1,19,865 candidates qualify.
Gender-wise NEET 2025 Result
NEET UG saw a higher participation of female candidates this year as well. Of the 22.09 lakh students who appeared for the exam, 9.37 lakh are male and 12.71 lakh are female. Among them, 5.14 lakh male and 7.22 lakh female candidates qualified the exam.

NEET UG 2025 state-wise results
This year, 22.76 lakh candidates registered for the NEET 2025 exam, which is lower than 24.06 lakh registrations recorded last year. Out of the 22.09 lakh students who appeared for the exam, around 12.36 lakh candidates qualified - a drop compared to 13.15 lakh qualifiers last year.
