NEET UG 2022: MCC warns candidates against fake notice on special counselling round

The fake notice claimed that MCC will conduct a special stray vacancy round and the state quota admission deadline has been extended till January 20.
NEW DELHI : The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has warned candidates against a fake notice claiming that MCC will conduct a special stray vacancy round for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) counselling 2022 and that the last date of admission has been extended for state quota till January 20. MCC also advised students not to forward any fake information to anyone and warned of action against those involved.
“It has come to the notice of MCC and MoHFW that a fake Notice purportedly dated 10.01.2023 issued by MCC as attached below is being circulated in the social media. In this regard, it is mentioned that no such Notice has been issued by MCC of DGHS,” said MCC in an official notice.

“Students/ candidates are advised not to take cognizance of such fake letters / Notice and also not to forward or share fake information to any other groups. Necessary action will be taken against any person indulging in such malicious activities. Candidates are also advised to lodge a complaint in Cyber Crime Cell or an FIR,” it added.
The fake notice read that as per the approval given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), MCC will conduct a special stray vacancy round for the vacant MBBS, BDS seats of All India Quota (AIQ), central university, central institute, deemed university in online mode. The last date of admission is January 20, it claimed. The decision has been taken as MCC received several representations from candidates, the fake notice said.

“Since medical counselling committee is in recepit of representations from several states regarding extension of last date of admission for UG counselling 2022-23, the competent authorities have decided that the timeline for AIQ counselling and state counselling should be on same lines. Therefore, all the state counselling authorities are hereby informed that the last date of admission/ counselling for state quota is extended till 20.01.2023,” read the fake notice.
The fake notice further said that the state counselling authorities are advised to adhere to the timelines and complete the counselling process by January 20, 2023.
