NEET UG 2026 cut-offs rise across categories; general qualifying marks increase to 715-213

Register NowThe National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the category-wise qualifying cut-offs for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 along with the examination results. Compared to last year, the qualifying marks have increased across all categories. However, the qualifying percentiles remain unchanged. NEET UG result LIVE updates.
For the Unreserved (UR)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, the qualifying cut-off range has increased from 686-144 in 2025 to 715-213 this year. The qualifying percentile for the category continues to remain at the 50th percentile.
Increase in qualifying marks
The qualifying marks have also increased for reserved categories. Candidates belonging to the OBC, SC and ST categories now have a qualifying cut-off range of 212-177 marks, compared to 143-113 marks in 2025. The qualifying percentile for these categories remains at the 40th percentile.
Similarly, the UR/EWS-PwBD category has a qualifying cut-off range of 212-194 marks this year, compared to 143-127 in 2025. For OBC/SC/ST-PwBD candidates, the qualifying marks have increased from 126-113 in 2025 to 193-177 for OBC-PwBD and SC-PwBD, while the ST-PwBD category has a cut-off range of 191-178.

A total of 9,96,935 candidates qualified under the UR/EWS category, followed by 81,111 in OBC, 29,947 in SC and 12,452 in ST.

Higher cut-offs despite unchanged percentiles
Qualifying percentiles remain unchanged from the previous year. Cut-off marks depend on the overall performance of candidates, the difficulty level of the examination and the distribution of scores. This year's Re-NEET examination recorded several high scores, with 19 candidates scoring above 700 marks and 1,492 candidates securing 650 or above.
According to the NTA, 11.21 lakh candidates qualified the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination. Candidates who have qualified will now be eligible to participate in the counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the counselling schedule soon.
