The National Institute of Design has successfully conducted the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2021 today, March 14, from 10 am ownward in pen and paper mode. NID DAT 2021 was conducted in 23 cities across the nation. NID DAT 2021 answer key will be soon available on the official website - admissions.edu.in. Most of the aspiring students found the Design Aptitude Test moderately difficult. Through NID DAT 2021 , students will be offered admission to the NID DAT campuses in B.Des and M.Des programmes. The institute conducts the NID Design Aptitude Test to evaluate the candidate’s knowledge, skills and behavioral abilities. NID DAT is a two-tier entrance test which consists of prelims and main exams. The shortlisted candidates after the prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the mains exam. NID DAT 2021: Expected cutoff
The National Institute of Design offers various BDes and MDes programmes to the aspiring students. Candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks to gain admission in the institute. The institute will soon release the NID DAT cutoff 2021 for all the categories. NID DAT 2021 cutoff is expected to remain along the same lines as the previous year's cutoff. NID DAT 2021: Question Paper
NID DAT 2021 has been successfully conducted today, March 14, in various exam centres. NID Design Aptitude Test was held in pen and paper mode. Students were not allowed to take the Question-Cum-Answer booklet outside the examination hall.
According to the input from candidates, a total of 36 questions were asked out of which Question no. 1 - 31 were multiple choice questions. Whereas Question no.32-26 were subjective questions. In the multiple choice section, questions related to COVID 19, Padma Shri Award, folk and culture of different Indian communities and History of Designing were asked. On the other hand, subjective type sections mainly consist of pictorial and textual questions. In the subjective section, students were asked to design a poster using both visual and text related to bullying awareness programmes in schools and colleges.

NID DAT 2021: Exam Analysis
According to the input from students and experts , the overall difficulty level of the exam was moderately difficult. Most of the students found the pictorial and diagram section quite tricky, however, the general knowledge section was easy to moderate. There are a total 36 questions in which Question 1 - 31 were multiple choice and 32 - 36 are subjective type questions.
While speaking to the correspondent of Careers360, Anand said “The NID DAT questions were quite lengthy and were moderately difficult. However, I attempted all the questions and the reasonable & logical section was easy”.

The National Institute of Design will release the NID DAT answer key 2021 anytime soon on its official website admissions.edu.in. NID DAT 2021 result for prelims exam is expected to be out tentatively in the fourth week of March in online mode. The shortlisted candidates after the prelims exam will be eligible for the mains exam which consists of studio test and personal interview.

NID DAT 2021: Exam begins
The NID DAT 2021 exam has begun now, in offline mode in 23 cities. The duration of the exam is 3 hours for B.Des students and 4 hours 30 minutes for MDes students. Candidates were seen wearing face masks/shields and hand gloves to avoid infecting the COVID-19 virus. Candidates had reported to the exam venue 2 hours prior to the exam time and the gate was closed 30 minutes before the exam commencement. None of the students were allowed to enter the exam hall without the NID DAT 2021 admit card and identity card.

NID DAT - COVID 19 guidelines
Students are advised to take all the necessary COVID 19 precautionary measurements to prevent themselves from getting infected. The COVID 19 guidelines which candidates must be followed at the exam centres are as follows.

Candidates must wear face masks and hand gloves.

No candidates will be allowed enter the exam venue without the face mask.

Students will be allowed to enter the exam venue only after thermal screening and sanitizing their hands.

Students must follow the social distancing norm as per the Government guidelines.

Students showing COVID 19 symptoms such as mild fever, cold-cough will not be allowed to enter the exam venue.

NID DAT 2021 - Exam Day Guidelines
It is necessary for the candidates to follow the exam day guidelines during the entrance test. NID DAT 2021 exam day instructions are given below.

Candidates must carry NID DAT admit card, identification proof and COVID 19 self-declaration form to the exam centres.

Candidates are not allowed to carry any unauthorised items such as electronics gadgets and study materials to the exam centres.

Candidates must report to the exam centres at least 2 hour before the commencement of the exam.

None of the candidates will be allowed to enter the exam venue after the gate has closed under any circumstances.

Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam venue without a face mask. However, students will be asked to remove the face mask at the entry gate for identification purposes.

Possession of any unauthorised items by the candidates during the exam will be considered as attempting to send the question cum answer booklet outside the exam hall. Carrying the question cum answer outside the examination hall is a punishable offense.

In case, if the candidate is found using or possession of restricted items or indulging in unfair means is liable to be summarily disqualified.

None of the candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the completion of the exam.
