NMC invites applications from medical colleges for recognition of PG courses

NMC has asked medical colleges to submit the application form with required documents to PGMEB 45 days before the mentioned practical exam.
NEW DELHI : The National Medical Commission (NMC) has invited applications from medical colleges for recognition of PG courses, renewal of recognition, and recognition against increased intake of postgraduate medical qualifications. The commission has provided the format of application form and documents required for approval on its official website – nmc.org.in.
NMC informed that the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER) 2000 stipulate the process for recognition of post graduate medical qualifications. The function of Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) is to grant recognition to medical qualifications at PG and super specialty (SS) level.

“Hence, all the PG medical colleges/institutions under NMC where the PG medical courses are due for recognition/renewal of recognition during 2023 are requested to forward their complete application form through their affiliating university addressed to the Post Graduate Medical Education Board, National Medical Commission directly on the email id pgmeb.recognition@nmc.org.in exclusively for recognition of PG medical courses,” said NMC in an official notice.
NMC asked medical colleges to forward the application form with the exact date of practical examination for recognition of PG course as per the format along with the mentioned documents atleast 45 days before the exam to PGMEB so that assessors can be appointed at the time of practical exam. “Incomplete applications and applications submitted at the last moment will not be entertained,” NMC warned.
