NEW DELHI: Even after protests by students to conduct AKTU odd semester exam 2021 online, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow today held the regular and carry-over exams for students in offline mode at 122 test centres set up across the state. Immediately after the exam, students started sharing images of exam centres and alleged that the Covid-19 protocol was not implemented by AKTU.

Students were campaigning for online exams due to the spike in Covid-19 cases and Omicron fears. They also said that the syllabus was not completed due to the pandemic situation. However, the university stood its ground.

As per reports, a total of 1,10,000 students were to appear for the AKTU odd semester exam.

Several students took to social media to share images of students not wearing masks or maintaining social distance. They further alleged that the exam centres where AKTU odd semester exams were conducted did not have any facility, thermal scanning or followed Covid-friendly behaviour.

A student wrote on Twitter, “No Covid-19 rule was followed by AKTU Lucknow. Maximum students did not wear masks. I have symptoms of Covid-19 so get ready if I get positive. Center doesn't provide sanitiser.”

Sharing an image of students not wearing masks, a Twitter user said, “Reality of masks, social distancing, hand sanitization, and other Covid related precautions being implemented at various AKTU exam centers.”

“Students are protesting against offline exams for more than 11 days, but still, there is no reply from AKTU. Why university is ignoring the issues of students?” another student said.
