Attempt NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency has released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains 2023) official brochure and eligibility criteria on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023. JEE Mains 2023 exam for January session will be conducted on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 2023.

However, the NTA has confirmed that the JEE Mains 2023 will only have two attempts. This year, IIT JEE aspirants will be allowed to get two attempts in JEE Mains in January and April sessions. The authorities have started the JEE Main 2023 registration from December 15 on the official website.
JEE Mains 2023: Number of attempts
The NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2023 examination in the months of January and April sessions. The candidates will be allowed to appear in the examination two times only.
The JEE Mains 2023 session 1 will be conducted on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 2023. However, the JEE Mains 2023 session 2 will be conducted on April 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 2023.

JEE Mains 2023- Eligibility Criteria
To appear in the JEE Mains 2023 examination there will be no such age limit. However, the candidates must have passed the following eligibility criteria to appear in JEE Mains examination.

The candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2021, and 2022, or those who are appearing in Class 12 in 2023, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023.

The Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2024 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Mains 2023 examination.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with at least 75% marks conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class 12/qualifying examination. The candidate is also required to pass in each of the subjects of Class 12 / qualifying examination.

The JEE Main 2023 comprises two papers. Paper 1 of JEE Mains is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs BE or BTech at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs), institutions, or universities funded/recognized by participating state governments.
