The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) has directed all schools to conduct an awareness programme on the e-admission process for Class 11 students. The awareness programme aims to guide Class 10 passed students and their parents to understand the online admission procedure for the academic session 2025-26 and avoid difficulties during the application process. Schools are required to complete these sessions by June 6, 2025.
As per the official notice, the Common Application Form (CAF) submission process is ongoing. Eligible students who declared passed in the Odisha Class 10 exam 2025 can submit the CAP form by June 30 through the SAMS portal. Students can also edit their CAF up to four times using OTP authentication during this period.
“This is to inform you that the e-Admission into Class-XI has started from 24.05.2025. Most of the students who have passed Class-X may be unaware of the e-Admission process. It is therefore requested to conduct an awareness programme for the students applying at your school level by following the enclosed guidelines by 6th June, 2025, positively so that they will not face any problem in getting admission,” the official notice said.
Students from the general category will have to pay Rs 200 as the CAF fee, while those belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories will be charged Rs 100. Students who are persons with disability, orphans, and transgender candidates are exempt from paying the fee.
“If an applicant changes their category during CAF editing, the system will automatically charge an additional 100/- or *200/- as applicable,” the official notice said. During the CAF submission process, students will have to provide basic details such as name, date of birth, address, contact number, and category. They are also required to upload documents, including:
Students should also provide their academic details, such as Class 10 board exam marks, roll number, and the name of the board. The DHSE has further advised students to collect their Permanent Education Number (PEN) and Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) from the headmaster of their Class 10 school.
Following CAF submission, students can select preferred Higher Secondary Schools in order of choice. Students can apply for multiple preferences to maximise the chances of selection. The following points should be kept in mind during this process:
Students admitted to a lower-preference school can submit a slide-up request via their SAMS login to be considered for admission in a higher-preference school during subsequent merit lists. SPOT selection admission, including choice locking, will be conducted fully online.
Students who opted for a slide-up request, those who missed/forgot to opt for a slide-up request, those selected and not reported in the first selection, those not selected in the first and second selection, and candidates selected in the second selection (whether admitted, not admitted, or requiring error correction) are eligible for SPOT selection admission.
