Over 12,000 teacher, principal posts vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas: Government

6,414 posts of primary teachers, 3,176 TGTs, 14,09 PGTs are lying vacant in KVs, MoS Annapurna Devi told Rajya Sabha.
NEW DELHI : More than 12,000 posts of teachers and principals are vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country, Minister of State (MoS) for education Annapurna Devi said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.
The minister was replying to a question by CM Ramesh about the last recruitment of teachers and principals in KVs and the subject-wise number of vacancies at present along with the steps taken to fill these vacancies.

The minister informed that there are a total of 12,099 vacancies of teachers and principals including anticipated vacancies up to December 2023 and direct recruitment has been started to fill the vacancies. The advertisement for direct recruitment was issued by KVS in December last year, she added.

The minister further informed, “the last recruitment for filling of vacancies of teachers and principals was made by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) during the year 2018.”
