NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi will participate in the programme marking ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on December 26, 2023. The event will commence at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 10:30 am.

On this occasion, Narendra Modi will wave a flag as a sign to begin the march-past by youth in Delhi. To pay tribute to this day, the government is holding participatory events around the country that aim to inform everyone, particularly young children, about the tale of the Sahibzades' noteworthy courage.

A digital exhibition chronicling the Sahibzades' life story and sacrifice will be presented in schools and daycare facilities around the country.

A film on 'Veer Baal Diwas' will also be played around the country. There will also be competitions online such as interactive quizzes organised through the MYBharat and MyGov portals.

On the day of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Prakash Purab, on 9th January 2022, Prime Minister stated that the 26th of December will be marked as 'Veer Bal Diwas', in tribute to the martyrdom of Sri Guru Gobind Singh's sons, Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.

"Today, on the auspicious occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I am honoured to share that starting this year, 26th December shall be marked as 'Veer Baal Diwas.' This is a fitting tribute to the courage of the Sahibzades and their quest for justice. Veer Baal Diwas will be on the same day Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji attained martyrdom after being sealed alive in a wall. These two greats preferred death instead of deviating from the noble principles of Dharma," PM Modi tweeted on January 9, 2022.
